Illustration inspired by the music video for “Forrest Gump” by Frank Ocean. He’s donning the yellow tuxedo he said he would wear at the Grammy’s on his feature in Mellowhype’s “Astro”. Years later he would actually do it while performing Forrest Gump. I remember listening to Odd Future with my friend’s back in high school, and thinking it was pretty cool watching Frank materialize his vision.

One of my favorite albums is Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange. I drew this portrait over an orange background to resemble the cover art and put focus on the red and white headband he wore during the promotion of the album.

I wanted to create something a little more abstract and creative rather than emulating a scene or image. I love how the yellow letters overlay the magenta heads to create the saturated red, as well as form unique shapes with the negative space.
